Who writes these stories, and why.
Hello, and welcome. I am glad you found your way here.
I started writing these stories because the ones Jesus told have never let go of me. He could have given lectures. Instead he talked about lost coins, difficult sons and a man lying beside the road, and two thousand years later we are still turning those stories over in our hands.
I am not trying to improve on the parables. I only want to set the same old truths down in ordinary places: a corner shop, a kitchen, a hospital waiting room. Places where most of us actually meet God.
What you will find here
A new short story is published every week. Most take less than ten minutes to read. After each one there is a short reflection, the scripture that inspired it and a few questions, in case you would like to talk it over with your family or small group.
The stories are fiction. The people in them are invented, though you may well recognise them.
Staying in touch
The simplest way to follow along is to join the mailing list. I send one email a week with the new story, and nothing else.
